History:

On January 29, 1956 the two ski jumps in the "Junge Heide" at the "Wilder Mann" in Dresden were inaugurated. They were built under the leadership of Dynamo Altenberg in 4700 voluntary work hours as part of the National Construction Works (NAW). The larger ski jump had a 5-meter-high wooden tower and allowed jumps of 27 meters. However, after only 3 years the ski jump fell into disrepair due to its poor condition.
From 1926, there was already the first ski jump in Dresden at Stechgrund, and in 1955 the Pionierschanze in Alaunpark was built.
