History:
The ski jump in German Falkenberg (Sokolec within Poland after World War II) was one of the three most important ski jumps in the Eulengebirge (Górach Sowich) - next to the Forellenschanze in Steinkunzendorf (Kamionki) and the Schanzen in Langenbielau (Bielawa). It was built in 1927 thanks to the efforts of the local authorities. The inauguration of the facility took place on January 21, 1928. Every year, international competitions were held on the Eulenschanze, which even attracted more than 10,000 spectators. After the Second World War and the incorporation of the area into the Polish borders, the ski jump was used by amateurs for a while until it finally fell into disrepair.
