Already in 1912 in Mühlbach at Hochkönig, home of ski jumping legend Josef Bradl (also called Sepp, Bubi or Buwi), the first ski jumping hill was constructed.
The Rudolfschanzen at Arthurhaus in Mitterberg, located above the town on around 1500 meters altitude, were built in 1922. During 1920s and 30s high-class competitions were held there. The hills had still been used until the 2000s.
