Already in 1909 the ski association of Carinthia held the first ski jumping event on a provisional ski jump in the north of Klagenfurt, at Schleppe brewery. For the 1910 winter season, two permanent ski jumping hills were built there, which allowed jumps of around 30 and 15 meters. In November 1910, a conversion took place under the lead of senior lieutenant E. Elsner, who shaped the hill according to Holmenkollen. In 1912 and 1914, the Carinthian championships were held there.
After World War I, in 1921 a new ski jumping facility - which is still in use today - was established at Sattnitz near Viktring.
