History:

At the beginning of the 20th century, in the small town of Scandinavia (the name was not accidental due to the numerous immigrants from Scandinavia to those regions at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries) the Scandinavia Ski Club built a ski jumping hill. It was constructed on the south-eastern corner of Highway 49 and Shady Drive - on the property of Edward Fleck. The first ski jumping tournament on Fleckkesbakken was held on January 22, 1911. The location of the former ski jump is still recognizable in snowy winters due to the lack of trees at the landing and outrun area.
