History:

The construction of the ski jumping hill in the small village of Ratnitz at Lake Faak, in the border area ("Grenzland") to Slovenia, started in 1935 and in 1936 it was inaugurated. In January 1938, the state championships of Carinthia were held by WSV Faakersee on the 40-meter hill. Also after World War II, numerous Stephani and Grenzland competitions were held on Grenzland-Schanze until its deconstruction in 1968.
To revive the tradition of the competitions on St. Stephen's day, in 1991 the small Elsa-Schanze was built.
