After the Skiclub Haag, which built its first ski jumping hill already in 1931, had been very unlucky with 3 different ski jumping structures in and around the town after World War II, in 1967 they found a new location for a natural hill about 10 km away at Soyen, in the villages of Hohenburg-Rieden. It was inaugurated on January 6th 1969. The ski club was even able to buy the ground on where it was located, so the problems that existed at the other facilities, could not occur. Still, there was another problem: Lack of snow. The longer the ski jump existed, the worse it got and so people lost interest in the sport, which led to the fact that the ski jump was not used anymore for a longer time.
