History:

In the Gastein valley, there existed a few other ski jumps besides the famous, 1921-22 built Bilgeri-Schanze at Bad Hofgastein.
The construction of Zottlau-Sprungschanzen already started a few years after SC Badgastein was founded in 1912, but due to World War I it could only be finished in 1920. It was inaugurated with the Austrian-German people's championships in 1921.
After World War II, Palfnerschanze at Hinterschneeberg was inaugurated in 1947. Even a night competition with Sepp Bradl was held there. However, due to the development of the town it soon had to be deconstructed and as a replacement Tauernschanze on Planie in Böckstein was built. This hill, however, had serious deficiencies and was soon removed as well. Instead, a junior ski jump was built at Mittereggerwiese, on which even two summer competitions were held using tanbark and soap as snow replacements.
In January 1951, the first 1st Winter International University Sport Week was held at Gastein valley. However, it is not clear where the ski jumping event was held (winner Ivo Razboršek from Yugoslavia) - Bilgerischanze oder Palfnerschanze

(Above data on hill sizes and years are only estimated)
