Shortly after World War II, Koepfleschanze at Zwerwald in Riezlern was inaugurated by Skiclub Kleinwalsertal on 1949-01-10. It was designed by Heini Klopfer from nearby Oberstdorf, who together with Sepp Weiler and Toni Brutscher also competed in the Kleinwalsertal wintersports days in March 1949. However, the hill record of 66 meters was set by Anton Steinmüller from Sonthofen. In the following decades, sporadic international Easter competitions were held on the 70-meter hill. Most sucessful ski jumpers form Kleinwalsertal were Willy Schuster from Hirschegg and then in 1980s his son Werner. Presumably in 1970, a 50-meter junior hill was added. In 1986, after the 17th Easter competition, Köpfle-Schanzen had to be closed due to an argument about the use of the property of the ski jumping hill's outrun. As a replacement, Fürst-Waldburg-Schanzen at Schwende were built in 1987.
