History:

After it became clear, that the time of Bergensbakken, the main ski jumping hill in Bergen, was coming to an end, there was a need for a new ski jump. This one, which was called Granbakken, was already completed in 1947, so one year before Bergensbakken was demolished. Shortly afterwards, floodlights were built, which allowed jumping in the darkness. The ski jump was used until the end of the 1970's, as well as the neighboring smaller hill. Both inrun towers were demolished in 1988. But until today, the location is known as a sightseeing spot.
