The Ski Club Allalin was founded in 1908 as the first one in Upper Valais. The ski club was named after 4027 m high Allalinhorn looming over Saas-Fee, from which the world’s highest downhill ski race took place twice in 1946 and 1954 with a length of 9 km and a height difference of 2227 m.
In 1913, the jumps were around 20 meters long on the first ski jumping hill at Bifig. After conversions in the following years, substantially longer jumps were made possible. However, with up-coming Easter ski races and Valais ski jump tournaments in 1930s, from 1938 onwards the ski jumps at Mischi and the Mischabelschanze were built to replace Bifig-Schanze.
