In Serbia’s capital Belgrade two ski jumping hills were constructed in 1936. On the one hand there was Košutnjak 40 meter hill, which was projected by famous Stanko Bloudek and later reconstructed in 1953. On 1956-02-26 2,000 spectators came to watch a competition of 10 participants, among 3 Polish. There Albin Rogelj jumped a record of 35 meters, in training Jože Zidar even landed at 42 m.
The other jump was a 20 meter hill at Avala, which had also been in use not very long and was soon destroyed.
