In 1953 the first ski jumping competitions were held at Drežnica near Kobarid in north-western Slovenia, near to the Italian border. Depending on the snow conditions competitions were organized irregularily and in 1981 the ski jump at today's location was constructed. It was even planned to build a K50 hill after plans by Oto Giacomelli. In 2005-06 the small ski jumping facility with K12 and K25 was revitalized, but only in March 2013 the next event was held.
Due to the recent success of Jaka Hvala from Ponikve, ski jumping is becoming more and more popular in Primorska region and it is planned to reactivate other ski jumps which are currently not used and organize a tournament for juniors, so-called "Isonzo Cup".
