History:

In 1933, the 21-year-old Aleksandr Petrovich Perfiliev, having finished the school of physical education in Perm, returned to his hometown Satka and started to work as an instructor, organising the ski section for slalom and ski jumping, competing also as an active athlete (he belonged to the top 10 alpine skiers in the USSR). Thanks to his initiative, among other things, a small ski jumping hill was built on the promontory behind the town pond in 1937. His productive sporting time and plans for further development were interrupted by the Second World War, during which he fought in Soviet-Finnish battles and spent several years in German captivity. Returning from it, in 1946, Perfiliev again started to work for winter sports in Satka, both competing as an athlete and convincing the local authorities of the need to build a ski base. After 4 years of efforts, the Satka administration accepted his request and in 1952, with the forces of the komsomolniks and the local community, a 45-metre-high facility was built behind the pond and a slope for slalom competitions was prepared next to it.
In December 1952 the USSR national team trained on the new ski jumping hill and participated in the inaugural competition. Since then various regional ski jumping events were held regularly and in 1954 Perfiliev's dream came true, a specialised winter sports school for young people with a ski jumping department was opened in Satka. Aleksandr Perfiliev himself worked there as a coach for many years.
In January 1955, the jumpers from Satka - A. Plotnikov, Y. Suvorov and B. Solodnikov took the entire podium at the competition in Chelyabinsk. In the following years, the local athletes continued to be quite successful at regional level and Perfiliev himself handed over his coaching duties to his successors in 1965. From that year onwards, the skiers also practised on the "Pianoy Gore" in the Culture and Recreation Park.
In 1957, an orchard was established behind the factory pond in Satka. This area of the town became a popular recreation area. In winter and summer, sports competitions of the factory workers were held there.
