History:

Yukki is a little settlement near Saint Petersburg, were the ski club “Polar star” (Poliarnaja Zwezda) built the first Russian ski jump out of wood in 1906, on which jumps on 10 to 12 metres were possible. Later on a 20 meter hill with an artificial inrun tower was set up. Already in 1912 the first Russian Championship took place here and this meant the beginning of the development of ski jumping in Russia.
Today's ski jumping center, which is used by the athletes of SDUSHOR Vyborg, includes the K60 and K40 winter hills, as well as a K25, which was equipped with plastic covering in 2011, and a K15, K10 and K5, which got mattings in fall 2016.

Johannes Pennio

Dear Yukki,

My grandfather was a ski jumping champion for your club in the early 1930s. His name was Johannes Pennie (Pennie Ivan Ivanovic). Could you send me any information about his records, or could you give me details concerning the Pennie family in the early 30s (most of them were the finest athlestes of the time).
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Kovacs Arpad Pennie
