History:

In 1939 the construction of the largest ski jumping hill of the whole USSR started in Krasnoyarsk on Mount Diwan. Already on March 12, 1940 the ceremonial opening of the facility took place, during which the longest jump, 73 m, was performed by Rostislav Bielakov, later outstanding aircraft designer. One week later a special competition was held to beat the best distance. The hill and country record was then set by 17-year-old Konstantin Kudryashov with 82 m. The ski jumping hill did not survive the turmoil of war and plans for its revival in the early 1950s failed due to bureaucratic problems. The outskirts of the hill, pointing towards the Yenisei, were built up with a village of a wood processing plant. Later, the tradition of long-distance ski flying in Krasnoyarsk was continued on the nearby Kashtak.
