Ski fans in the Moscow region often visit the Volen park located in Yachroma. In the area of this park there used to be a ski jumping hill complex. In 1948, a 40-metre hill was built, quite large by the standards of that time, and next to it there was a smaller training facility. The ski jumps were popular, but at the end of the 1980s a fire consumed the wooden construction, which was not reconstructed anymore. Fragments of the inrun still stood for some years, after which they were finally dismantled. So far, no one intends to build a new facility, although there is suitable terrain in the Dmitrovsky district to find a place for one on one of the hills. A thriving ski resort, Yachroma, has been operating nearby since 2003 and is considered one of the most expensive in all of Russia.
