On the other side of the Oka river ski jumping was also practised. In the town of Kvan, which means "swamp" or "marsh" in the local dialect, there were two ski jumps of 15 and 60 metres, built in 1971. The larger facility was once the local pride and the only street in the area bears its name (Tramplinnaja). Nowadays, nothing is left of the ski jump, it was dismantled in 2008 as a safety concern. It was replaced by the modern "Kvan" ski complex.
