In 1935 an approximately 25-metre-high ski jump was built in the village of Chełmek. It was built on the initiative of the local ski jumper and skier, the propagator of winter sports in Małopolska, Jan Pawlik. The inrun ended with a 9-metre high platform which was supported by four wooden pillars. The jumpers finished their jumps in the area of Piastowska Street.
