Granliabakke was one of the first, if not the first, ski jump in North Trøndelag, which was equipped with floodlights. That was one of the reasons why the it was very popular until the early 1990's. Only the inrun, which was too flat and short, was a weak aspect of it, since many jumpers did not even reach the take-off.
