History:

The Veslumkollen ski jumping hill in Skåbu was opened in 1946 thanks to the dedication of members of the local sports club. It was located near Lake Olstappen, which, once frozen, served as the outrun. The first competition was held that same year, and the longest jump reached 41.5 meters.
In 1947, Arne Hoel from the Varg Oslo club set the hill record with a jump of 47 meters. In 1951, his result was surpassed by Torbjørn Moen from Dombås and Kåre Sørlien from Fåberg, who both achieved 49 meters.
The hill was used until the early 1950s, when the construction of a hydroelectric power plant on the Vinstra River led to the transformation of Lake Olstappen into a reservoir, making further use of the facility impossible. The sports club received compensation for the loss of the hill, which was used to build a sports field near the school. Since then, no larger ski jumping hill has been built in Skåbu.
