History:

On the initiative of Kenneth Ulla, who is also the school principal at Haramsøy, enthusiasts built an 8 meter ski jump at Haramsøy north of Ålesund. It was inaugurated on June 21, 2015 by none other than Anette Sagen, who could reach a distance of between 5 and 6 meters. “We don't know exactly if she holds the hill record because we forgot to measure! The zeal was too great," Ulla said after the "Sunnmørsposten".
Between 300 and 400 people came to the opening of the ski jump, to which the Norwegian Ski Association also donated a pair of jumping skis to the enthusiasts. These are compatible with cross-country ski boots, so anyone who wants to try their hand at the slopes can easily hop on. However, the name of the ski jump is not a direct reference to the world-famous Holmenkollen, but has a simple reason: “We live on a small island, or “hølme” as we say here. Hølmekollen was also very fitting,” said Ulla.
