History:

The first drafts for the ski jumps in Breidablikk district at Skien community were made on September 18th 1952. Besides three hills, also floodlights were supposed to be installed. But, before the construction works could start, it had to be clarified whether the areal is free from (yet) unexploded mines and bombs.
Afterwards, it became clear that the inrun for the largest of the three junior hills was too short, it was extended with a wooden construction. Following that, floodlights were installed in 1953 and the facility was opened.
In 1962, the wooden inrun tower was demolished and replaced by an iron construction, which helped keeping the popularity and importance of the facility until the late 1990's.
