In 1930’s the largest ski jump of whole Norway was standing in the village Nordagutu in Sauherad municipality in Telemark province about 100 km south west of Oslo.
Narekollen was opened on 1934-01-28, the first hill record was established at 64 meters. On 1936-03-12 Arnold Kongsgård improved the distance record on 95 m, afterwards there was great hope in being able to host the worldwide first jump on more than 100 meters on Narekollen. But then only three days later Austria’s Josef Bradl realized this at Planica with 101 m. In 1938 Hilmar Myhra jumped on 100 meters, but the could stand his jump.
On 1948-03-21 the very last competition was organized at Sauherad, but only on the smaller substitution hill Åslikollen.

Correction of name
The correct first name of hill record holder is Arnholdt - full name Arnholdt Johannes Kongsgård, and he was nicknamed 'Nolten'.
Also can add: the outrun part of hill is now cleard of trees and brush so can be seen. But no plan to reactivate.
