Barkollen was built in 1935 in Undrumsdal, a district in the village of Barkåker, which belongs to the community of Tønsberg nowadays. According to locals, it was a huge challenge to jump there, because the landing slope used to be steep and the radius towards the outrun very sharp.
Barkollen only had a very short but vivid history: Two years after its construction, the inrun tower collapsed and had to be rebuilt. Due to a good progress, the hill was ready to use already in the next winter. However, the history came to an end as soon as the war also came to Norway.
