The first ski jump at Larvik and pride of Nansen IF was set up with Dambakken in 1940. Since the hill was equipped with floddlights, a lot of competitions were hosted there. Due to the owner of the area who claimed back his estate, the ski jump had to be torn down in 1961.
The Brattlibakken was set up in 1947 and enlarged after the end of Dambakken. In 1985 the additional small jump was built and still today both hills are frequently used.
In order to strengthen the ski jumping activities of Nanset IF the project "Hoppsenter Brattlibakkene" was started in 2012. From 2013 to 2015 three new plastic covered ski jumping hills K45, K20 and K10 were planned to be build on the backside of current Brattlibakkene. The total cost for the three ski jumps with summer equipement, judges' tower and lift would have been about 8.5m crownes (1.2m Euro).
However, the project was given up again in end 2013. Then the last official competition on the old Brattlibakken facility was held on 2014-02-02 and most of the ski jumpers of Nanset IF moved to other clubs.
