History:

As early as 1909, a ski race for school children was held on the slopes of Fjeldstad. This was the predecessor of what was later called Vestjordsbakkene.
In 1921 an agreement was reached with the landowners and an official ski jump was built in Vestjordet. It was said that the jump was 40 meters long from the take-off table downwards - what this meant in terms of length is not known. The following year the ski jump was further improved with new scaffolding and some excavation work. A grant of SEK 150 was approved for this by Hole Sparebank! After the merger with Krokkleiva IF in 1946, a new lease agreement was concluded with the landowner until 1955 (NOK 10 per year). The floodlight system was also put into operation in 1955.
Eventually the ravages of time took their toll, and in the fall of 1958 the old facility was demolished. However, the facility was quickly rebuilt and in February 1959 the ski jump was re-inaugurated in new splendor and with a new profile. Waterproofed materials have been used to ensure the durability of the hill for many years. In 1963, large amounts of material were removed from the overpass. The basin was filled in and the ski jump dismantled. The critical point of the ski jump was now 42 meters. The last known ski race on the facility was a national race in 1986.
