History:

The Kavlemyrbakken ski jump, located in Valnesfjord Lægda in Norway, was built in 1947 by the Strømsgodset sports club. The area once featured an open bog, through which a road used to pass, coming from Steglevannet. The name Kavlemyr comes from the fact that short logs — "kavle" — were laid closely together to make the road passable. The ski jump was used until the mid-1960s, when Kavlemyr was drained. This was a result of forestry policies at the time, aimed at increasing the area of land available for forest use in Norway. Today, the area where the jump once stood has been transformed into forest, and no visible traces of the ski jump remain.
