History:
Statens Husflidsskole på Skansen, which was opened in 1917, had a sports team back in the day, which was also active in skiing. The area around the school was suitable for that kind of sport and so a slope in Northern direction was chosen as a location for constructing a ski jump. It is not known when it was built exactly, but most likely this happened before the end of World War II.
In the early 1950's, the condition of the inrun tower became worse, so it was replaced by a new one. This conversion, as well as another one later on, did not change the fact that the ski jump mostly was used for training - mostly from locals. One of the popular names, who jumped there, was Johan Flyfør, who was also on the Norwegian National Team.
Meanwhile, the ground was flattened and also the inrun tower does not exist anymore. A similar case is the smaller Skansebakken, which was used by the pupils in order to prepare for the bigger hill.
