History:

In spring 1965, first inspections on possible locations for a ski jumping hill in Blaker area took place. After a proper place was found, an agreement with ground owner Heddy Astrup for constructing a K53 was made. The building costs were calculated with 30,000 Norwegian Crownes (around 2,800 Euros), which also included grandstands and floodlights. At the same time, Blaker IL started a collaboration with clubs from Aurskrog and Finstadbru. The presidencies of Sørum and Aurskrog granted 5,000 Crowns (around 475 Euros) for this project.
In the 1965/1966 winter, the ski jump was very provisional as the first test jumps were made; distances of up to 40 meters were reached. After these first tests, it was clear that the work was far from finished yet and so the official opening was postponed. In 1966, around 500 square meters of rock mass were moved. Then, an inrun tower could be build and also finally the grandstands. In January 1968, the hill was finally ready to use and 104 were delighted after participating in the inaugural competition.
In autumn 1968, another 1,500 Crowns (around 140 Euros) were granted for installing the floodlights. 23 lights of 1,000 Watts each were used. On March 7th 1969, the first night race took place. Another historical event happened on February 25th 1972: The competition in course of the 50th anniversary of Blaker IL.
Between this anniversary and the next documented competition, ten years passed. 43 jumpers took part of the Jarsjørennet, which was won by Terje Ødegård from Fet, who became the new owner of Jarsjø Cup. Ski jumpers from Fet were dominating the next few years, since there were many talents. But, already five years later, the last official competition took place. Meanwhile, the area of the ski jump is overgrown.
