Gjønnesbakken was a gift from Hans Haslum to Stabæk IF in connection with an anniversary at Gjønnes gård, a local farming company. According to statements from people who jumped there, it was a fun hill but also difficult to prepare, because a lot of snow was needed for it. A couple of times, the annual competitions had to be moved to other ski jumps due to a lack of snow. The last competition was held in 1976, which also was the final time the hill was used. The inrun tower was dismantled and used for the reconstruction of the Kolsåsbakken.
