History:

The "Trampolino olimpionico del Lago" in Rocca di Mezzo in Abruzzo was on inaugurated on February 8-9, 1952. The construction of the 45-meter ski jump and a smaller junior hill was initiated by the municipality. The opening competition, in which the best ski jumpers of Italy took part, was won by Luigi Rossi from Gallio, with Renato Molinari making the longest jump of 40.5 meters. Important national competitions were held there every year until 1957. At the beginning of the 1960s, the newly founded Sci Club La Rocca tried to revive ski jumping and Nordic combined. However, the "Olympic ski jump" was only used sporadically by locals until around 1970 and was increasingly dilapidating.
