History:
In Steinheid in Thuringia in winter mainly cross-country skiing is performed, but in 1970’s there was a plastic covered ski jumping facility in Teufelsgrund, too. It was operated by BSG Traktor Steinheid, but today it is already dilapidated.

Baujahr
Das angegebene Baujahr der Schanzenanlage ist nicht richtig.
Der Bau der Jugendschanze begann 1952-54. Bereits 1958 konnte die Schanze als Mattenschanze mit einem neu erbauten Kampfrichterturm für den Sommerbetrieb eingeweiht werden. Viele gut besuchte Wettkämpfe, Meisterschaften und Trainingslager fanden hier statt. Trotz weiterer Umbaumaßnahmen in den Folgejahren, entsprach die Anlage in den 80-er Jahren nicht mehr den aktuellen Erfordernissen und wurde 1984 letzmalig für eine DDR-Schülermeisterschaft genutzt. Am Aufsprunghang informiert heute eine Schautafel über die ehemalige Sportanlage.
