History:

Already before World War II, SV Piesau was active in winter sports. In 1948, the construction of the ski jumping hill below the 819 meter high "Hoher Schuss" began. Although the 25-meter ski jump was never really completed and remained a makeshift, competitions were also held there - though with great effort. The last jumping event was carried out on the occasion of the district Spartakiade of Saalfeld in 1970.
