The first ski jumping hill at Kuhbrunnen in the Bleicherode mountains was already built in 1920s. In the period from 1950 to 1960 many small conversions and extensions of the facility were carried out by the club BSG Glück Auf Bleicherode. At this time, a small winter sports center with a ski lift and a toboggan ride was built up in the valley of Bleichbach creek. In 1963 a smaller ski jump was added. The conversion of the larger hill as K39 was finished in 1964. In 1969-70 the hill profile was changed again and the take-off was moved back by a meter. In 1972 the radius of the landing hill was again modified. Kuhbrunnen-Schanze has already been abandonned for a long time and hardly any relicts are left.
