The 1971 constructed Hammerbergschanze is situated directly in the centre of the town of Rittersgrün and has a glass inrun trail and mattings for summer training, and floodlights, too.
During the century-flood in the east of Germany in 2002, also the outrun of the ski jumping hill was washed away. The peak of the spate was reached with the flooding of ancient inner cities like Dresden and Meißen. The small brook in Rittersgrün was one of the numerous influxes of the Zwickauer Mulde river, which was responsible for the complete flooding of the town Grimma.
