History:

With the founding of Sportgemeinschaft Mildenau in 1949 from 1952 on every winter community championships were hosted, ski jumping took place on 22 meter natural ski jump at ”Steinbauergut“.
In 1959 plans to built up an enduring year-round ski jump at “Galgenbusch” at the foot of Buchenberg were made, but only in 1962 the construction could have started. In the inrun area a street had to be crossed, wherefore a cable winch construction was installed and opened on 1963-02-24. But this was not accredited by the appropriate authorities and a long-lasting lawsuit followed until 1966, when the street was replaced by some meters. Later on a judges tower and a junior ski jump were built up, too, and Mildenau became training centre of Oberwiesenthal. In 1987 ski jumping activities were stopped after winters with lack of snow and declining interest. Finally in 1990 the inrun tower needed to be removed.
