History:

The fact that ski jumping was again possible at Annaberg after the end of Pöhlbergschanze, can also be tributed to the ski jumping trainer at that time Karl Zeirold, who helped to construct Pionierschanze and then cared about young ski jumpers of Annaberg for more than 20 years. Situated at the north side of Pöhlberg, Pionierschanze could be opened with a district spartaciade competition in March 1971.
Children and pupils practised there in summer and winter on these two ski jumping hills. Regular city and sectional championships, as well as cup tournaments were hosted here, where up to 90 children competed for medals on only one competition day.
After 1993 the jump was rarely used and then in 2001 the city council decided and then realized the destruction of the jump, which was existing for exactly 30 years.
