History:

In 1958/59 in Franke-Halde at Buchholz, which was a deposit developed trough uranium mining, members of BSG Fortschritt Buchholz built up a ski jumping hill in voluntary work included in former NAW (National Rebuilding Society). After completing in fall 1958, heavy winds forced the inrun tower to fall aside in the end of December. Luckily there were no jumpers on the facility, but the inrun had to be rebuilt a second time. It was even constructed a bit higher and was equipped with the starting gate which can be seen in the photo. The K24 ski jump was completed on November 29, 1959 and inaugurated on January 3, 1960. The ski jump on Halden was then used until the mid-1960s.

falsche Bezeichnung

Die halde wird als "Franke-Halde" bezeichnet, nicht als "Frankenhalde".
