History:

The local mountain of Neustadt bei Coburg in Upper Franconia is 515.5 meter high Muppberg, at whose eastern slope near Ebersdorf village a 34 meter ski jumping hill could be inaugurated on January 27, 1952. This ski jump at the "Ebersdorfer Wand" was constructed by the 1949 founded Ski-Club Neustadt bei Coburg. Later it was enlarged into a K42, renamed "Albert-Schmidt-Schanze" and had been in use for a few more decades. Due to warmer getting winters and lack of snow the SC Neustadt had to reorganize its sports activities in 1980's and thus also ski jump activities ended in 1989.
