History:

Already before constructing their own ski jumping hill, the skiers of 1923 founded TSV Benediktbeuern were also ski jumping in Penzberg. In June 1929 the planning of the construction of a ski jumping hill at Windpässel started. On December 19, 1929 the first trial jumps were made and then works were completed in 1930. The official inauguration was held on January 18, 1931, when 1000 spectators saw jumps up to 27 meters long. Competitions were hosted there regularily until mid-1930s.
After World War II the first jumps were already performed again in March 1949 and after that annual competitions were organized at Benediktbeuern. In 1958 the ski jump was renewed and then allowed longer jumps of more than 40 meters. A highlight were the Nordic combined junior championships of Werdenfels county in 1967. Three years later the landing slope sled down after a heavy thunder storm. Since 5,000 DM for the reparation works could or did not want to be afforded, this meant the end of ski jumping activites in Benediktbeuern, which is famous for its cloister.
