History:

In a hard economic and political adversity the Skizunft Badenweiler decided to approach to the construction of a ski jumping hill in 1932 and in spite of public doubts it was completely realized. In late 1934 the natural ski jumping hill at Hochblauen (1165 m) was inaugurated. One year later on February 10, 1935 the very first “Blauenspringen” was organized at very cold weather, but many spectators came to the jump. The grand duke of Baden had donated the cup, because she hoped to start a traditional annual competition. Even the enlargement of the ski jumping hill was planned, but with growing political pressure of the sports-dictatorship of these times ski jumping activities in the little club were soon broken down and already in 1936 the very last jumping competition on the jump was held.
