History:

Already in 1909 in Gourette at Eaux-Bonnes situated above Pau the second skiing tournament at Pyrenees at all with competitions in downhill skiing, bob racing and ski jumping was organized. Also in the following years the international Pyrenees-competitions were hosted there with participants from France, Switzerland, Italy and Norway. Best French sportsman in this time was Alfred Couttet from Chamonix, who earned the surname “Champion” becoming umpteen times champion of his country.
