History:

The first small ski hill at Ounasvaara in Rovaniemi was set up in February 1927. On December 11, 1927 the permanent 30 meter hill was inaugurated. This jump had been used until 1947, the final hill record was at 43.5 meters by Feodotoffin and Timo Murama.
In 1947 again a 50 meter hill made of wood was constructed at Ounasvaara and called "Keskari". This hill became victim of fires twice in 1956 and 1976.
Since then, all ski jumping activities have moved to the Ounasvaara complex, where the first ski jumping hill was built in 1961.
