Duedalbjerg (117 m ASL) is a hill located at south lakeshore of Thorsø lake near Virklund city in Silkeborg Municipality.
First plans of Duedalbjerg skihop were done in 1943. Next year wooden ski jump developed by Thorkild Jensen was built by Jakob Jakobsen. Works were finished in March 1944 but there were no athletes enough brave to jump hill considered as really difficult. During 1945 winter only some small jumps were done there. Finally, 3rd March 1946 first official event was organized - longest jump during that day was done by Øjvind Skjaggestad from Norway (24,6 m). Few days later, on 17th March 1946, biggest ski jump event came at Duedalbjerg skihop - "Hoprend" got around 4 thousands spectators!
During next years some other competitions were organized there - with participation not only from Silkeborg's ski jumpers but also from other Danish athletes and even some foreign ski jumpers. Longest jump in Duedalbjerg skihop history was 29,5 metres long. In 1955 ski jump was abandoned and never came again to life.
In 1980s Silkeborg Skiklub made a proposal of Duedalbjerg restoration, which included also new ski jump, but costs were too high and project was never realised.
