Edmonton Ski Club was founded in 1911 and with the construction of its own ski jumping hill for the winter 1912 it wanted to surpass the ski jump of Fram Ski Club at Camrose. During the 1913 competition, which was attended by 5,000 spectators, John Hogan jumped a Canadian record of 109 feet. By 1926, the ski jump had become ramshackle and had to be closed. Only in 1935 it was modernized and re-opened. After World War II, interest in ski jumping steadily declined and thus the last competition at Connors Hill was held in 1975. Three years later, the ski jump, of which the inrun and table crossed Conners Road, was dismantled. Today, the area is still used by Edmonton Ski Club as an alpine skiing slope.
