History:

The winter sports club Stans, founded in 1930, built its own ski jumping hill in 1934 in the Weng, above the village in the direction of the pilgrimage site of St. Georgenberg. On February 10, 1935 the first competition took place on the wooden hill and in March 1935 the Norwegian winter sports pioneer Sverre Larsen-Urdahl organized a jumping and cross-country skiing course with 30 participants. At that time, distances between 20 and 25 meters were achieved on Wengschanze.
