History:

In 1929 in Kitzbühel, according to the plans of Hans Zimmermann, the construction of the Burgstallschanze began. Opened on February 5, 1930, it was distinguished by its modern, "safest in Europe" aerodynamic profile. An interesting fact from the history of the facility is the triple jump with the participation of Sepp Sailer, Sepp Klingler and Hans Mariacher in 1934. In 1936 the ski jumping hill was rebuilt: among others the threshold was moved back by 2 meters. For just over 20 years, the hill was the arena of international competitions, often with the participation of European top jumpers. The end of the ski jumping hill's operation was caused by its destruction by a mudslide in the winter of 1954.
