History:

Already before World War II there was a ski jumping hill at Berwang near Bichlbach, on which regional competitions were held. In 1949-50, SC Bichlbach built an impressive large ski jumping hill, on which jumps of more than 100 meters were possible. Mähbergschanze was only used for a short period, but great jumpers like Rudi Dietrich, Sepp Bradl, and the Leodolter brothers, and from Germany Heini Klopfer and Sepp Weiler participated in the so-called "Grenzland" competitions.
