History:

In the 1930s, there were already the first small ski jumps at the foot of the Zigöllerkogel in Köflach. It was not until 1950 that a permanent ski jump was built on the northeast slope of the Zigöllerkogel. Ing. Siegfried Kravcar was responsible for the planning and the profile of the ski jump. By 1953 the facility was expanded to a 50-meter ski jump. At the Stölzle Cup on January 17, 1953, even the Austrian ski jumping elite around Four Hills Tournament winner Sepp "Bubi" Bradl competed. In front of an incredible 10,000 spectators, Bradl won with a jump of 47 meters. Later he was able to increase the hill record to 48.5 meters. After winters with little snow, the ski jump was abandoned in 1963 and ski jumping came to a standstill in Köflach. Karl Zinke earned great merit as an organizer and humorous speaker at the jumping events.
